Welcome to your online Shinpiden Reiki Level III Professional Development course.
Find out what all those confusing Reiki words mean.
Within the system of Reiki we often think that we have to touch people or that we have to hold our hands just above the person during a healing session. But for me that is just one very small element of the system of Reiki.
In August, I did a reiki retreat with the International House of Reiki. It’s the 10th year that they’ve done it, and even though I’ve been hanging out with IHR longer than that, I’ve never managed to make it before. I always thought it was the wrong time, or I was doing other travelling, or I didn’t want to leave my partner and do a trip on my own, or … Always an excuse, so I’m glad I didn’t make any excuses this time, I just went!
All material at the Ki Campus is copyright the International House of Reiki and may not be used for any other purposes than those set out by the International House of Reiki. This material may not be copied or shared outside of the Ki Campus. This is a private forum and teaching area for students of the International House of Reiki only.
Welcome to the Ki Campus!

(Japanese) Purification. Purification rites are a vital part of Shintô. A personal purification rite is purification by water; this may involve standing under a waterfall, which is known as misogi. In Usui Mikao’s teachings there is a technique called kenyoku hô – a method of dry bathing or brushing off, which is a form of misogi. Shintô priests practice techniques such as kenyoku hô. One Shintô practitioner said that he performed a similar ritual with a group of men from his village where they wore only a red loincloth at the hekogaki festival (putting on the loincloth festival).
